Aluminum pipe for the construction of large antennas, 2 meters or more band wavelength used. In the case of the antenna of 2.4 GHz the wavelength is so short that the use of a tube is mechanically impossible. You need a flexible cable that is not easily broken. This is the reason for these antennas used brass and copper often.
